What should I do - Cannondale Bad Boy
After selling my MTB I need something now for occasional off-roading. Double tracks, some single tracks, some occasional roots, no drops or anything extreme.
I have a dillemma - I have Bad Boy with Deore crankset, 105 rear der, LX shifters..etc.
And other alternative would be to sell this Boy and buy a CX like Motobecane https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/..._clearance.htm
The problem with Cannondale I can't put wide tires on existing wheels. The maximimum size the frame accept is 700x32... this is what I found.
Of course I can install disc brakes and use 26 MTB wheels, but it will become the regular MTB... still not as good as I just sold.
On the other hand Outlaw would accept at least 700x35 (I believe) and it looks cool and I like the concept (all 4 other bikes have drops and it will fit the stable perfectly, but with off-road character)
What would you recommend?
I never tried CX bike off-road. May be thre is something I'm missing.
Thanks.

A 3mm tire difference does not seem to justify buying a new bike. 32mm tires are fine for the kind of riding you're describing.

I think CX geometry is worth to try vs boring MTB
...
It is not only the tires width..
Unfortunately I do not have funds and I have to sell two bikes to get this one...

After thinking about it you should keep the Bad Boy. I just did some technical trails a couple weeks ago on a Waterford with 700 X 32C Specialized Nimbus , basically street tires. My only problem was the BB was a little too low. The Bad Boy is more than capable as an occasional off road machine. Good luck

I would be glad to keep Bad Boy, but I'm so tempted to try something totally new - CX.
There is the chance to keep Bad Boy - I may just sell one of my single speed and be able to get probably some CX for less money
