Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

My new Volagi

Hey all!

I don't race CX but thought you might want some pics of the new ride! A Volagi Viaje apex build, with BB7 discs. After all the traveling I do I decided to switch to one bike for all my needs...CX bike seemed like the way to go. So far I've been using the Viaje on some group rides, single track, commuting and hopefully some touring in the future! If you are thinking about getting only one bike, I highly recommend a CX bike. I rarely miss my Giant trance or road bike.

Cool pics and bike. The Viaje was on my short list but I went with another bike. Ride dirty!

Viaje on Tarmac

Thanks for the pics of your Viaje.

How would you compare the Viaje to a road bike in terms of handling (is it twitchy, just right, or sluggish), weight (steel vs steel or actual weight), and aero (how high in the wind does it put you with the little higher headtube)?

Thanks, I really want a Viaje and it will have to be an all-rounder for me. As in a brevet bike, long-distance racer (200+ mile racing), and a backup commuter.

because it is impossible to shoulder it and do run-ups, it really is a Disc brake Road Hybrid, and not a CX bike frame, at all.

Top tube too swoopy and sloping.

But nice pictures of your bike in a bunch of places , none the Less..

you could have just as easily called a Commuter and a Light Touring bike ..

the pictures say it is a touring bike, by Use.

the categories are grey boundaries between one name and the other ..

" What kind of Music Do You Play " is a similar spectrum without crisp boundaries, for the most part.
