It was a custom built XC racing bicycle that came to me as a frame and fork with a crankset, custom built Moulden stem, and the flat bars.

I swapped out the stock bars for the drops, installed the new controls, and fitted the drive components and racing wheels.

It curbs out at 23 pounds nekkid with the lighter Schwalbe tyres.

    Hi all,

I'm pretty new here, but wanted to share my commuter/grinder as well. It's a 1988 Trek 7.2fx workhorse, with a few extras that include a Brooks saddle with suspension post, RAM mount for my Garmin GPS, Richie adjustable stem (which gave me the fit I was looking for), a trailer hitch, and of course the bag mounts. It's an aluminum frame with a steel fork, which works pretty well on Missouri's Katy and MKT trails.

    aviary_1409278160431.jpg

I'm not a big suspension fan overall, but it has made breaking in the Brooks just a little nicer on the bumpy terrain. The Pletscher dual kickstand is the latest addition, and I'm absolutely loving it. Any bike cabal members from G+ might recognize the proud zombie raccoon on the seat tube.

I'd love to upgrade the drivetrain and wheels, but unless I come across a used 7.5fx for a bargain I'll probably save those bucks for a nicer quality CX.

Here's a shot of my ground up custom built JBC while it's clean. It's not as high spec as it has been before but it still grinds gravel with the best of them and been doing a lot of that lately.

2010 Custom Carbon JBC, 1990 Ricardo Pinnacle, 1988 Ricardo Elite, 1983 Ricardo Varsity, 1990 Peugeot Hurricane, 1977 Dawes Galaxy GT, 2007 Pinarello F3-13, Custom aussie made 1980 Columbus SL racer, 1975 Calton Rapide, 1995 Olympia Fusari, 1993 Basso Viper.

My gravel grinder, touring machine, commuter, shopping bike etc.

The seat pack is a little off due to my dog leash mount.

Searched the world over (Google search) for pics of the new Giant Anyroad with fenders and/or a rack. Found nothing and so here's mine:

(forgive me the plumber tape bracket until I can machine a permanent solution)

Ready for the crummy weather commuting ahead.

here it is naked, same pic I posted here months ago

Here is mine though it wont see quite as much abuse sine I just built up an All-CityIMG_0827.jpg Nature boy disc this weekend. This is my Salsa Cassenroll. A tried and true performer. I have beat this bike to death and it still comes back strong.

Here is the Nature Boy Almost ready for primetime.
The Nature Boy is as quick riding a bike as any I have ever touched. Light at 25 lbs with water bottle and pump. Love the disc brakes on the trail.

Here is my grinder-do it all bike.
I made a build there's about it too, but as I'm very happy with the first 200 miles, I thought I would put her in the 'show us yours' thread.

    Changes since first build
Changed to a 127mm mtb bottom bracket for a better chain line.
    Longer stem
Narrower bar after bending the bell lap, don't like it so looking for a more flaired bar.

Love my bikes, all N+1 of them.

Are bamboo tubes slide over the alloy tubes on a Bontrager fork or have the alloy tubes been replaced?
It's none of my business what other people think of me.

Yes it is just a bamboo sleeve on the fork, I was not prepared to risk a bamboo fork leg, James at the bamboo bicycle club has toyed with the idea and possibly built one, but I don't believe there is one in regular use!

This was my dad's Bianchi Project 5, early 90s 700c mtb. I redid it with new powder coat and new parts. I love it.

The bike was my dad's Bianchi Project 5, he passed away in 2009 so I restored the bike to a more usable version for myself and thus, the Bianchi Project Jr. (I'm the 3rd).

    Thanks, glad you like it!

I like the black on black with just enough highlights to make it pop. Well done! My next bike, I think, will be jet black.
