Very nice Moots ! Super fun on hardpack gravel with those tires, probably quite a challenge if the gravelroad gets a bit rougher.

Yeah, it's not setup for gravel in that picture. I have another wheelset with some Specialized cross tires.

Tried my Salsa on some rooted single track today. I got through but scared myself ****less! A mountain bike it is not.

Rides great. Really stable on loose terrain and fast. Have a gravel grinder race in 2 days and will really put it to the test.

Picked this up a couple weeks ago to act as a carrot to get me back to riding after my broken leg heals.
Just bought a Moots layback seatpost. They sure are proud of these titanium bits and pieces...

Nice bike. How do you like those mustache bars? I've always liked the look but couldn't bring myself to buy them.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
It was a custom built XC racing bicycle that came to me as a frame and fork with a crankset, custom built Moulden stem, and the flat bars.
I swapped out the stock bars for the drops, installed the new controls, and fitted the drive components and racing wheels.
It curbs out at 23 pounds nekkid with the lighter Schwalbe tyres.

Hi all,
I'm pretty new here, but wanted to share my commuter/grinder as well. It's a 1988 Trek 7.2fx workhorse, with a few extras that include a Brooks saddle with suspension post, RAM mount for my Garmin GPS, Richie adjustable stem (which gave me the fit I was looking for), a trailer hitch, and of course the bag mounts. It's an aluminum frame with a steel fork, which works pretty well on Missouri's Katy and MKT trails.
I'm not a big suspension fan overall, but it has made breaking in the Brooks just a little nicer on the bumpy terrain. The Pletscher dual kickstand is the latest addition, and I'm absolutely loving it. Any bike cabal members from G+ might recognize the proud zombie raccoon on the seat tube.
I'd love to upgrade the drivetrain and wheels, but unless I come across a used 7.5fx for a bargain I'll probably save those bucks for a nicer quality CX.
Bradd

Thanks Erik,
Here is a shot of my wife's Yeti Arc-x from a few pages back. I really wish they would bring these back, such a cool looking frame.

your cross bike size 52 ??
please answer: your height? iseam?
So I decided to buy a bike like that. I wonder about the size of it (I'm 5'5 ", iseam 29.5" without shoes) and I'm just the mtb size 16.
I refer to the calculation of the size of the bike I have only resulted in: top tube 55; stem 9; seat tube c-c 49 (or 53.5 top tube, stem 9; seat tube cc 49) so I had to cross Fantom size 52.
I'm not sure what I should choose size: 49 or 52 I want to consult you.
thank you very much.
(sorry, my english is not good)

Yes, it's a 52cm
Im 5'8" with a 30" inseam without shoes (short legs I guess)
When over the hoods or in the drops I feel a bit more stretched out then when on my Moto Ti road bike, which is strange because the 51 Ti road bike has a 540mm top tube where the Cross claims to have a 535mm. Ill measure the cross when I get home for you.
Unless you have long arms or like to ride in an aggressive position, I would lean towards the 49 if I were you.
