Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

New/ used bike

I am new to cyclecross bikes.
I have been thinking a long time about purchasing a road bike for my 19.7 mi ride home/ commute. The roads have been pretty bad and a little stretch on my way home has been in hard dirt. My hybrid just was not cutting it anymore. On the way home from work the other day I tried a friends 2010 Specialized Tricross at lunch in a parking lot and fell in love with it. I wanted to buy it there on the spot, but it was not for sale.
The friend sent me a link to one on CL and after a few days of chatting with the seller, I picked it up today.
OMG!
What a wonderful experience so far. I am so looking forward to my pre-dawn commute.

So now I feel like I have a light weight bike thats tougher than myself to ride for every scenario I can think of.
I weighed my Marin carbon fiber/ aluminum hybrid (Lucas Valley) and it came in at 4lbs. heavier than my nimble TriCross. (pretty interesting stat)

Looks like a perfect commuter there. I do the same on a used Fuji CrossComp.
