Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Best Clincher Cyclocross Tires Guide

I always see a lot of questions about Cyclocross tires and thought it would be a good idea to write up a tire guide. I recently published my top 15 clincher cyclocross tire choices. I included tread types for all conditions of riding and racing.

What are your go to clincher tires?

First of all, I really enjoyed looking at your site.

Nice work!

I have a Croll and Salsa La Cruz. Both are dedicated gravel bikes.

Right now, I am running Challenge Almanzos and Eroicas on on these bicycles.

On my Merckx Alu Cross, I am bouncing between Racing Ralphs and Slant 6s.

Just depends how dry it is on the course, roads and trails.

Nice guide. Of those you list, I've ridden the Ritchey Speedmax Pro and Vittoria XM Pro. I've also run the Schwalbe CX Pro tire which I imagine is similar to the Challenge Grifo, but maybe a little more grippy.

I'm planning this season to basically run the Ritcheys as my default set, and for sketchier conditions, put the Vittoria XM on the rear and Schwalbe CX on the front.
