Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Before we get too far into this, have you ridden both? This should be the main
consideration.

Also
1. Do you think you could ever want to attach a rack?
2. or Fenders for commuting?
If affirmative for either (1) or (2) go Nova.
If the answer is definitely "Never" go 1500.

IMHO, IMHO, IMHO, IMHO, IMHO

the nova will open up fireroad rides and mellow singletracks. i'd never give up my cross bike for a pure road bike.
plus the jamis is steel, cool, and not something everyone and their cousin has.
