Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Quick vote - CAADX 105 Disc OR Giant TCX SLR 2

Limited by budget, I am torn between these two.

Giant TCX SLR 2 OR CAADX 105 Disc

Any thoughts or views on either would be appreciated....and might stop me going round in circles!!

Thank you.

It's a toss up. The Giant has internal cable routing, which is nice but also sometimes a pain. The C'dale has a BB30 bottom bracket, which is nice unless it starts creaking.

The crank is better on the CAADX. The brakes don't excite me on either one, nor do the wheels.

If you plan to use it for community/utility cycling, the Giant looks like a better choice. The cheap carbon seatpost on the Giant would worry me for racing.

I guess I'm not helping with the going in circles thing.

Giant may make both, Cannondale shifted their frame and bike assembly to Taiwan.

There already are several familiar Brands that the company makes under contract,

They really are Giant.

I don't have any experience with the Giant, but I have a CAADX 105 (with canti's) and it is rock solid. The bike is light, stiff and rides great. I'm almost done with my first cross season on it and I've had zero problems.

I don't really like mechanical disc brakes and wanted to be able to swap road wheels onto it, so I was happy my LBS had a 2013 left before they made the switch to disc.
