Shimano CX70 cantis with non-sti (SRAM) levers

Hi everyone, I'm new here :)

I'm planning on buying Shimano BR CX70 cantilever brakes and so I was just wondering wheather they will work fine with non-shimano levers.
Are those cantis designed to work only with STI levers which have a bit different cable pull (than SRAM) ?I wanted to use them with SRAM Force levers, will I encounter any issues? Anyone using a setup like that?

Thanks :thumb:

Yes.

In theory, those brakes are designed to work with newer (5700/6700/6800) Shimano STI levers, which do pull a different amount of cable than SRAM levers. In practice, cantilever brakes are extremely adjustable and can be made to adapt to nearly any amount of cable pull.

I'm using CX70's with 5600-series 105 STI levers (which I believe do have about the same cable pull as SRAM) and they work great.

Any road brake lever will be fine.
