Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

New Trek Boone

I posted this in the 41 a couple weeks ago, but wanted to offer it up for the CX forum.

About 3 weeks ago I purchased a new Trek Boone 7. I had Force22 installed and Bontrager Aura 5 wheels put on & a Power2max as well. I got this bike to replace a Domane that I crashed and broke the frame. My intent is to use the Boone as my primary ride, but also use it for gravel grinders and possibly race a few CX's with it.

So far I've put a little over 500 miles on it and had my longest ride on it yesterday - a little over 80 miles. I couldn't test ride one before I purchased b/c no one has them in stock. My biggest fear was that it wouldn't be as comfortable on the long rides as my Domane was. I can tell you that I was just as comfortable on the Boone. It's also comfortable (to me) while climbing. So far I'm very pleased and feel that this may very well be a pretty good all around bike.

Congrats, I saw your pictures in another thread, and it looks like an awesome bike! I recently did the same thing after a long hiatus from cycling (on a lower budget), and I have been very happy. I needed one bike that could serve road, gravel, single track, and hopefully a little CX duty until I am financially able to build up a stable, and it has worked out better than I thought. Enjoy the bike, she's a beauty!

Congrats. As a very happy Domane 5.2 owner I was really excited (and not really surprised) when the Boone came out. I can't justify the cost of one but am hoping that Trek comes out with an less expensive aluminum version of the Boone as they ended up doing with the Domane.
