Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Sounds like a good decision. Not everyone providing an opinion on this thread has read all the content. Considering that you are in the EU, the prices and availability of tires is not the same as in the U.S..

The tires should arrive until Wednesday.

By the way, which pressure do you recommend? Please consider my 200lbs, a 20-25lbs load and something like 80% road and 20% cobblestone. I never used 40mm tires before, so I'm kind of lost here

I weigh 212 and run 42's at 65lb rear 60 front.

You might try starting at the higher end near what the tire is labeled for and work down to where you start to sense the rolling resistance just start to increase and the ride comfort start to go up.

I have gotten snakebit with a 35mm tire at around 50 lb. (Small tree branch in a dark underpass. Didn't see it in time) Don't go too low.

I'm 190 lbs, and run my 700x42 Speed Ride's all the way up at 85 psi on pavement (loaded or unloaded). There aren't any cobblestone roads around here, but when I turn onto gravel I drop the psi to about 50 psi for a decent ride.

If I'm riding something mixed and don't want to mess with airing up / airing down while riding, I just put them at 65 psi, which is fine for everything other than really rough gravel.

I use the Ritchey Speedmax for this. It's light and only $20 a tire in 700x40.
