Tween Bike - Schwinn Lotus 26 vs Raleigh Eva 2

Hi

I'm looking at these two bikes for my daughter. She's about 5' tall and pretty light. They are both comparably priced with sales and deals I can find.

Which is better? Help - grateful for tips!
Samantha

Anything that comes in more than one size (one size fits all in the bike world is ludicrous) is a step up. The Raleigh comes in four sizes and the Schwinn appears to be only one size. I wouldn't waste my time on anything that has only one size. Both bikes have front suspension which on an inexpensive entry level bike is just a waste. It adds weight to the bike without being all that effective. Call it a gimmick to make the bike look more attractive. Raleigh even has the guts to list a weight for the bike. It is 31.46 pounds - see "specifications" https://www.raleighusa.com/eva-347. It's not really light but better than some mass merchandised bikes that weigh up to 40 pounds. Stick an 85 pound kid on a 40 pound bike and you have a recipe for not really enjoying it much for more than around the block.
