Seeking advice on child bike seat

Hi, everyone. We are doing things a little backwards here: We have not yet purchased neither a bike nor a child seat for a bike, but we know we want both. I've read that child seats can be pretty specific to the style of bike that you own and thus don't want to buy a bike that doesn't work well with a child seat or vice versa.

Does anyone have recommendations on a bike (preferably a road bike) that well accommodates a child seat? And then, a child seat that would work well with that particular bike? I hope I'm not asking for too much here. Thanks for any help!

I've got four daughters ten and under so we've experimented with quite a few bike seats on a number of bikes (cruisers to road bikes). Never really been thrilled with any of them. Much happier with a trailer that mounts at the rear axle. You can buy hitches for all your bikes, so you're always ready to tow, and when you're not towing your bike can be used as normal.

I have 11 month old twins, so its too early for the seats (and probably too early for a trailer as well!), but the thing that worries me is the visibility of a trailer - especially from SUVs+. Do you ride with the trailer on busy roads (or would you only ride it on a bike path?
