Seat replacement

I have recently bought a cheapo bike and am going to be sharing it with my wife. The issue that we have is that because my wife is not a petite woman she prefers a more comfortable seat, something not so small.

Does anyone know where we can find a seat that isn't the small wedge thype seat?

Thanks.

Jere

I've seen beach crusier size seats in Wal-Mart and K-Mart, and at popular online catolouges. Check a bike shop too.

I recently ordered "The Seat". I haven't received it yet. There are several models availible. Here's a link. https://www.thecomfortseat.com/ I remember a person on here a few months ago recommending it.

The best seat ever made in my opinion:
https://www.giant-bicycle.com/us/030....sp?model=11063

This seat is a beach cruiser saddle from Giant, you can take a look at them at a Giant dealer and try it too. Then if you like it, order it for only $25 at your local Giant bicycle dealer. I have tried it and so have most of the peoiple that I have refer them too. We all have one. And believe me I have purchased and tried more saddles than most people have.

Doing a follow up here. I received "The Seat" friday. This is the one I purchased. https://www.thecomfortseat.com/products.asp?cat=11

I don't like to bad mouth anything... However this seat is uncomfortable. The stock seat that came on the Trek 7100 hybrid is much more comfortable. The concept with the seat sounds good. No rubbing the gentials. This is true...However I just find the seat to small. It's 9 inches wide and only 6 inches long. On any upright hybrid bike all your weight is on the seat..or most of it anyway.

I've only got 10 miles on it. I'm going to take it off and put my stock seat back on. It might be a good seat for a mountain bike..but I wouldn't put it on a hybrid or comfort bike. However these are just my opinions. The seat is hard. It may have gotten better if I would put a few more miles on it and it might possibly get more comfortable...but I'm not going to do that. I already have a comfortable seat that came with this bike when I bought it last year.

My son is about to purchase a new mountain bike. He may give it a try since all his weight won't be on it. Just my 2 cents.

Your local bike shop should have a decent variety, but let me make a suggestion. Get a seat post with it. Also get a couple of seat post markers, or you can use a couple of seat post mounted reflectors. Set the seat that is on the bike to your liking, and put the reflector or marker down to the seat lock. Then take the whole seat post out when you change riders. Set her seat to her liking, and mark it the same way. Now for a few dollars more the bike will Be adjusted to both of you and you will be more likely to continue riding.

Good luck

I'd suggest finding a good local bike shop, one that will let you try a number of sears. Some of the "beach cruiser" seats are almost like piano stools. This sort of seat is a lot less comfortable than it looks. Gel seats also look nice, but can quickly wear a hole in your pants. The most comfortable seat can be surprisingly narrow.

Why not get a second bike to go with that new seat? That way you and your wife can ride together?

You are going to love it. I heartily recommend "The Seat". I use the "Endurance" model, and my wife uses the "Classic". I have a riding buddy who uses the Gel version, so I have tried all three. I find mine, "Endirance", to be the most comfortable.

Posted too soon. I guess I was wrong. I still love the seat, though.
