Child seat for Electra Townie?

My wife has an Electra Townie 24 (men's frame), and I've discovered that due to its unusual geometry (steeply sloping top and seat tube, seat further back and lower than normal), I cannot mount our Kettler child seat on it. (Believe me, I'm very mechanical, and it can't be done without major machining.)

If anyone can recommend a child seat (very tall 32lb 3-year old) that fits an Electra Townie I would be much obliged. I am concerned that a regular rack/child seat combo wouldn't work either because of the seat position, so I don't want to have to buy and attempt to install 5 seats before I find one that works.

I also do not want to get a trailer or top-tube/child-in-front carrier, so please just share advice on rear-wheel carriers.

Aside from this carrier-compatibility problem she *LOVES* the Townie and recommends it highly. She has intermittent back problems that made her hate riding more than a few miles, but the same unusual geometry that messes up the child seat makes it a joy for her, even on long rides.

thanks,

-joel

p.s. For those who want a more technical explanation, here it is:

Kettler page:
http://www.bicycletrailers.com/kettler.htm

Electra Townie page:
http://www.electrabike.com/04/bikes/...wnie_home.html

Our seat is pretty similar to the Kettler Flipper, but a few years old. It mounts into a receiving bracket, seen in the "Kettler Accessories" picture at the bottom of the page. That bracket clamps onto the seat tube. As you can see from the pictures, the Kettler bracket must mount to the seat tube much lower and further forward than normal. This means the seat runs into the top of the rear wheel before it gets into the bracket.
