Maui at Thanksgiving

I plan to visit Maui at Thanksgiving with my wife and 3 teenagers. We are torn between staying at a condo near Kihei or one in the upper northwestern in Hanokohau. My question is, which is a better center for family day cycling trips? Other activities that we are interested in are snorkling, surf fishing, surfing and being a tourist. Any insight that you can give me would be very much appreciated.

I would say Kihei. Molokini is right off the shore. Some of the best snorkeling in the world, and you're not as far away from other touristy things as you would be in Hanokohau.

If your on bikes, stay away from Lahaina/Kaanapali area. WAY to crowded. But lots of other fun things to do there if you ant to take a day trip in a car.

Have you considered Kauai?
