Need a temporary replacement bike cheap

Looking to replace fiance's bike, but as I'm still in college...there's little cash flow. Looking for best semi-temporary solutions (1-3yrs) bikes for under $150. We mostly ride on paved/packed gravel trails for 10-20 miles at a time, once per week with thoughts of 40plus miles later. Thanks for the help!

I seriously doubt that you could find a bike in this price range at a full service bike shop, but perhaps they might have a used bike that would fit your budget. Otherwise , for that price you are headed to a mass merchandiser. Sounds like a hybrid or ATB would be your best bet. I hate to recommend the department stores, but that will give you your best selection for this price.

Unlikely in my opinion that a department store bike would last 1-3 years 10 -20 miles a week. Try craigslist and find a used quality bike.
