Rec. riding brought to a halt (for a while...)

My wifes bike was stolen. This really stinks. Not that it was a very expensive bike or anything, but hey, it was all she had. Oh well, I guess I'll have to start scraping together parts and/or money (or both) to get another bike for her to ride.

Sometimes it seems like Murphy's law IS the law.

might it be covered by your home owners or renters insurance?
i hope she is back riding soon, it stinks when that happens no matter what the value of the item was.

there are no bicycles in the valley, the only bicycle you find in the valley is the bicycle you ride down there.
Ride in the front, this space is available to anyone that wishes to take it-jjmolyet

Sorry. Be careful about too many homeowner's or rental claims. Seems they are cancelling policies and raising rates for small claims. That stinks also.

I appreciate the sympathetic ear. I think this is one of those times where you're better off just to eat the loss and go on with life. I have been trying to get an old road bike up to par, but funds won't allow both. Oh well, I have nothing but time, I guess.

My condolences. I never leave my bikes outside, not even my son's bike. They all stay in the house at night. I finally got some cable locks for when we go riding around the neighborhood and want to stop for a drink at the store. Good luck in the future.

This brings up an interesting point... my bike was in the house (and coincidentally, I still have mine!).

Just goes to show, you can't drop your guard, even when you live in the sticks.

It's awful when a valued member of the family passes on especially in such tragic circumstances.

A friend who took me across the Nullarbor from Perth to Adelaide and on home to Hobart disappeared one night when outside in the carport. Never to be seen again. I shed a tear at the time, but was philsophical about it. We had experienced something together that was special, and the memories live on.

That's probably why I surround myself with so many friends these days -- some bright and spanky, some saved from the derelicts' graveyard...and they all live with me... INDOORS!

Rowan,
I think that you are starting to slip a little bit. Are you getting out much youself, these days?
