Cannondale Quick 6 or Trek 7.1 FX

Hi guys,

I'm new to LBS bikes. My last one was a ToyrsRUs special and I don't want to go back to that at all. I visited a couple of bike stores and after test riding a Fuji Absolute 4.0, a couple of Specialized, along with a Cannondale Quick 6, and a Trek 7.1 FX. Out of them all the Cannondale and the Trek seem to be nearly identical. I like both more than the other bikes I have tried and would like to try to pick one of those.

Are there any appreciable differences between the two? Would there be any reason to go with one or the other? The LBS seems to be pushing towards the Cannondale, but I have a feeling that it may not have much to do with how great the bike actually is.

Here are the links to each bike.

Any and all questions and comments are welcome and very much appreciated.
Thanks.

I'd take a Specialized or a Cannondale over a Trek any day.

I ended up buying a barely used 2007 Specialized Sirrus for less than what the bike stores were asking for the Cannondale or Trek. Haven't ridden it much, but so far I like it a lot.

I think the __________ would be the better choice for you, but the difference is not large and based only on my prejudices.

Fit is much more important than name badge.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Treks. I think the Trek FX line offers a great selection.
