Today's Ride
Got in a decent 16 mile ride today, weather and scenery beautiful in spite of lots of trail damage (mud, debris hanging from trees, downed trees) from the floods earlier this month. Story with pictures is here.

Nice pics! Amazing to see all the debris on that trail...

Thanks.
I was surprised by the debris myself. I took some pictures of the debris hanging in the trees on the far side of the river, because that showed much more dramatically how high the water had been, but when all was said and done you couldn't really see the debris that far away in the pictures. I knew there was a lot of bad flooding along some creeks in Azle and White Settlement, but I didn't realize that the Trinity itself had risen so much. I've lived here 13 years and I think it's the worst I've seen. |
Just 13 miles today on the Mineral Wells trailway. When you can only manage two hours for riding out of an entire three-day weekend, does it mean your life's too complicated? :(

These bars pull my body forward (and thus down) and tuck my arms in and I noticed easily a two to three MPH increase when using them.

Thanks, the bars work really well. They aren't as stable as being on the drops of road bars, but as long as you're running fairly clear of obstacles it's not a problem.
