Deal or no deal

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/bik/3090480194.html please bear with me as I'm not that great at posting so I hope this shows up. anyway I would like some opinion's on if this is a good deal for a cheap rider bike if all it needs is a new rim.

Looks good in the pics.

Someone that knows bikes should look at it.

A test ride might be enough to make a decision.

Do some online research

Yes, $50 for any bike that wouldn't take $$$$ to fix is not a bad deal (except for mass merchandiser bikes). This bike has been in production for way more than a decade. Try Googling on "Diamondback Response bike specifications" or the same term with "reviews" in place of "specifications" and you will get an idea what people paid for the bike, how they liked it, and how it has held up. The prices seem to vary widely for the same year of purchase. It was sold by places like REI, Dicks, and regular bike shops so it is not a Wallyworld special. If the rim is not tacoed, then it might be straightened by a bike shop for $10 to $20. If the rim needs replacing, expect to spend more than that.
