Trek Girl's MT 60 or Jamis Capri 2.0?

Visited a couple of local bike shops this AM searching for 20 inch girl's bike with gears for my daughter for Christmas. Trek Girl's MT 60 and Jamis Capri 2.0 both look like good options. I haven't had much luck finding reviews on the web, though. Anyone here with thoughts on these 2? We've owned Trek youth bikes and Jamis youth bikes before and have been pleased with both. I like the look of the Jamis slightly more, and the bike we're replacing is the 16 inch Jamis Mystic, if that matters...

I didn't like either of those two bikes, with their heavy frames (you would expect those two to be lighter considering that the frames are supposed to be aluminum!), and those sloppy grip shifters.

If your daughter is older (like 9 years or older), I would recommend the GT ZuM in the smallest frame size. It is reasonable light and has a rapid-fire shifter. I described my recommendation in a previous thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-year-old-girl

Thanks for your input. She is a very tall 6 1/2 year old. We are replacing a 16 inch Jamis without gears and do need the gears because we live and vacation in hilly locales. Recommendations? The Jamis and Trek were the only 20 inch options at the two LBSs I visited yesterday, save a Raleigh that didn't look like something my daughter would like, appearance-wise (unfortunately, as my son has a 20 inch Raleigh with gears, and it has been great). This is big gift from Santa so needs to be new. Thanks again.
