Getting back into biking for fun and fitness - help me pick a bike?

Hi guys,

I havent biked in quite a few years. Im in my late 20s, female, and wanting to get back into biking on my local bike path - the creeper trail, not sure if you guys have heard of it? It is only 20 mins from my house and wanted to bike there and some around my neighborhood. Nothing too extreme just getting back into it for fun and to lose some weight. Currently im about 250lbs and about 5'7. What would be a good bike for me?

Thanks!

+1 for the Clyde/Athena forum but that said just make sure you get a bike from a good bike shop you feel comfortable with and not one from a department store/ toy store etc.
