Deciding on a girl's bike?

Hi everyone. I am trying to decide on a bike for my daughter who is 8. I like the Diamondback Octane Jr. and the Trek 200.

Any advice? Thanks!

My 9 year old daughter now loves her Trek MT220. I say "now loves" because up until three weeks ago she was absolutely terrified of falling off the bike. She is now riding on her own, and I attribute part of that due to the geometry of this bike. To overcome her fear, I literally had to lower the seat as far as possible and remove both pedals. This allowed her to "scootch" using both feet, and she was able to build confidence and balance over the course of a weekend.

I've re-attached the pedals and she's tearing up the paths now - fearlessly!

Only downside I've seen is that the frame doesn't have a means to attach a waterbottle cage. I guess I'll have to get recommendations for handlebar solutions.

Good luck!
