My son just got out of hospitals in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham after a 33 day stay. I took the bike and used it for transportation around both cities. I figured I would try to get some good out of a bad situation. It went well altho Tuscaloosa is much more bike friendly. I learned the more bikes out on the streets the more we are accepted.
PS: The tornado destruction in Tuscaloosa is so bad it cannot be described.

When my son was in a rehab hospital here in Denver for 3 months, I would take bicycle breaks for exercise and psychological refreshment. The hospital was very close to a Denver metro bike trail and I would get about 20 miles in most days.
