Novice Question on Fitting of Gloves

It's a toss up between sizes large and x-large in the Gore (as in Gore Tex) brand at one of my LBS's.
The large seems to fit very snug and the x-large seems to have a "little" bit of excess space in the palm area and in the "little" finger tip area.
What is/are the factor/s in fitting gloves for riding a hybrid for recreation/fitness in colder weather?
Thanks in advance!!!

Just make sure you have enough room so that if you want to have a liner glove for extra warmth, you can do it comfortably. If you add the liners and you end up constricting your blood flow, you'll end up with cold hands all the time.
