First ride!

Sorry, posted this about three times here, but I'm pretty excited. My interest in getting a bike was mirrored by my wife, and we needed a trailer to tow the kids! Bike is a Jamis Aurora, trailer is a Burley Encore. First little ride was today, about 6 miles on the C&O Canal tow path, to get used to the bike and the trailer at the same time. They both worked phenomenally! I love this bike! My wife and I plan on doing a 20 mile loop when we get back from next week's vacation, and I'll be signing up for longer rides with that riding group.

We were going to bring our bikes with us on our vacation, but "like new condition" means different things to different people  I picked up my wife's Trek 7500 from Craig's list yesterday, and let's just say it wasn't in "like new condition". The price was still good, and it will clean up well, but she grumbled on today's ride and the lbs has a 7 day lead time. I don't know enough about it to get it ready for her by Friday. I will say I'm glad I chose the touring bike over the hybrid, even on the gravel I was flying--the bike rode itself!

Getting into bike riding myself after a 30+ year lapse. Started last year and fell in love with it all over again.

I have two little girls and it's a blast riding with them (they're barely old enough to ride on their own now).

For me, it's partly about the fitness of riding, but a bigger part is the fun. And kids make it all the more enjoyable.

Keep on riding!
