Saw a rear seat that folded into a rack - anyone know what it was?
hey y'all,
i was riding in brooklyn and saw what looked like a big, beefy rack that would unfold to become a bar bones rear seat for a toddler. it had foot pegs and hand grips, etc.
but i couldn't catch up with the owner to ask where to get it, and haven't been able to find it online.
this ring any bells with anyone?
thanks!

You mean this one?

I have a friend who has one. She said it's not as compatible with panniers as they had hoped, so they don't end up using it much.

Take a look at this site, maybe some of the "extender stuff" can be used to add panniers?

This posting reminded me of the old steel child seats that was found on bikes around here a looong time ago. I remember sitting in one on my mothers bike and I remember the steel digging into my legs (I also remember being warned about not putting my hands in the springs in the seat). No "bodyshaped" moulded parts and no padding those days. It is still possible to see bikes like this once in a while around here, mostly used as decoration in shops and similar.
