Yea you have to ask if it is wrong to get another female to replace your wife lmao,,you must really be lost.

I been riding my entire life, been married for 35 years. My wife occasionally rides with me to a resteraunt or local festival. I dont try to get her to ride like me. I prefer riding alone, but if I had to have someone to ride with why would it have to be a female? Why do you have to have a female? Give me a break. You couldnt be that stupid.

I don't really see the reason to worry about finding a female necessarily...if its because you're worried about the tandem bike and want everyone to see "Adam and Eve" instead of "Adam and Steve", I'd suggest not worrying about it or getting a new bike and a riding buddy of any gender (for exercise) and find something you and your wife both like for recreational time.

Anyway, the reason I felt compelled to post is that I just happened across this thread and my first thought from the subject line was that you were trying to find a female with similar riding interests *for your wife* to ride with. Actually, you should think about that possibility too. I know two women runners that run almost exclusively as a team...if one of them can't run, the other one will often do a shorter run at the Y or one of them will call me (I also go with both on longer runs during marathon training season). We all run at the same pace, so it works well. Anyway, I think the social angle is a lot more important to women. Most women get plenty of socializing with their own husbands, and are less intimidated by a friend who performs at a similar level. Might be a good way to get her into the sport.

Riding with other people should not be an issue, specifically looking for a member of the opposite sex to ride with . . . well . . .

How would you feel about your wife specifically seeking out a male friend to "play cards with" while you were out riding?
