Trail-a-Bike and Carbon seatpost?

Is it not a good idea to use a trail-a-bike mounted to a carbon seatpost? I have a carbon seatpost on my bike, and wasn't sure if this is a terrible idea or if it's along the same thinking of 'carbon forks fail all the time!' I don't particularly care about any weight savings or comfort or anything, but if there is not a compelling reason to replace it I won't. I am careful with the tension and the post seems to be in great shape- though it was a used gift from a friend. Thanks for any insight.

I would recommend against it. Just use a steel seatpost when pulling and keep your carbon seatpost for solo rides.
