Rail trails forum?

Not sure where to ask but is there a Rails to trails forums on the site? My family and I love to ride on the rail trails and there does not seem to be a specific forum about this topic.

rec and fam probably gets the most bike path talk, so you're in the right place. you'll find some on the commuter and road cycling forums also. I don't really see a need for a rail to trail specific forum.

my 2 cents

Lurch0038, I too see your from MA, Looking to ride in this area? Try rubel bike maps, shows the best bike routes for the whole state. NH .gov for north of here. Many paths in the lower 1/2 of NH.

I love riding rail trails and wish we had more of them around here (SW Virginia).

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy

Probably the best place to find information on rail trails is Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. It's an organization dedicated to converting abandoned right-of-way to trails and fighting to get abandoned rail corridors converted to trails rather than broken up and sold to nearby landowners. Once that happens it becomes nearly impossible to establish a trail. I've been a member for two decades. The link to trail maps in your area is: https://www.traillink.com/ and the home page for the organization is: Rails-to-Trails Conservancy:: Creating a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines:: Building healthier places for healthier people.

Lots of rail-trail riders (like me) post in the 50+. I'm 69 and we retired to FL just so we'd be near the bike trails (6 miles from the Withlacoochee Trail). Three other trails are within an hour or less.
