Question: About Universal Joint on Adam Trail-a-bike
I just bought an Adam Trail-a-bike Folder 2 which was already put together by the store. However, when I got home and put it at back of my bike. I found that the Universal Joint which supposes to take all the moves, bumps actually does not move around at all. There are two screws (please see the two areas mark in red on attached image) that control the motion of movement were really tight. Should I loose them to gain the freedom? I tried, but that will make the joint too mobile and I do not whether it is right. Looked up a lot of places and was all not mentioned. Could anyone here give me a headsup on how to adjust? Thanks! adams-hitch-complete.jpg

Those two joints need to be loose enough to move freely, but also should have minimal excess play. That excess play is what drives many Adams TAB owners nuts. The Burley system is less prone to this play as it uses a headset assembly instead. Give the loints a bit of oil and loosen slightly until just enough play to move with little force.
