Identify a frame - help please
 

I recently inherited this incomplete recumbent.

This frame appears to have been blasted and painted.
I can't find any numbers on it (at least not yet)

Can anyone tell me who made it, what it is etc.?

I can answer questions and provide more pics if needed.

Both rims that came with it are "Sun" rims.
18" front, 700 rear.
I don't know if that lends much of a hint.
And of course, I don't know that the wheels came with the frame originally.

Looks like someones homebrew project bike. Best clue is the attempt at using a standard stem and the seat/crank ergonomics look pretty iffy for
any commercial bike.

If it's homebrew, it's someone who knew how to make frames.
Pretty light, and very nice welds.

Also - I think the wheel set may have come from a Tour Easy - as I inherited one of those from the same guy, same time.
I think he may have been in the process of moving the components from the tour easy to the black frame.

The shifter on the tour easy is 8 speed, and the cassette is 8 as well.

The derailers are gone from both.

Definitely a homebuilt. It looks like maybe it takes the geometry from an EZ-1; it's pretty tall for a LWB. The seat looks like a Cool-Back from EasyRacers. Front is probably a 406, or BMX size of 20" wheel.

Since I'm betting the wheels, seat, maybe crank etc. came off the Tour Easy, I'm going to move them all back to the Tour Easy, and build it up, then at a later time, may or may not build up this frame.

I'll ask the family if they knew it's previous owner to be a welder fabricator, or if he may have had it built for him custom.

Maybe he wanted a "higher" tour easy.

Well I got the cranks, seat, and wheels off this mystery bike, and back on the Tour Easy tonight.
Also install a rear derailer from my spares bin, and connected the front brake.
I don't have any support bars fabbed for the seat back yet, but I got to take it out for a test spin.

Still to go, rear brakes, front derailer, fairing, and seat back before completed.
Also since I plan to ride some gravel, a different rear tire.

I guess I should start a thread for my Tour Easy someday....

Is there any kind of seat-to-pedal adjustment?

Yes - the seat has slots that allow it to slide forward and back, close to 4" of adjustment.
