Yes, the steel rod can simply be driven out with a hammer and long rod of smaller diameter than the one being pushed out. (Make sure the end of the steel rod on the trike is not mushroomed from being hammered). The rod fits through (and pivots on) bronze oilite type bushings that are pressed into both the main frame and the rear swingarm. Once the steel rod is pushed out, you can remove the swingarm from the main frame. You may notice the long tubes on the swingarm pull in towards each other when you remove it from the main frame. This means you may have to spread the swingarm tubes slightly to reattach it to the main frame.
