Pedal Height

Setting the bottom of the seat at 0, how high are the pedals on your recumbent? I'm building a recumbent quadricycle, and I want to know how much higher than the seat the pedals should be.

Sorry. There's no single answer to that question.
Are you looking for fast & super sexy or slower yet uber comfy?

A Catrike 700 has the pedals considerably higher than a TerraTrike Rover or Rambler.

The recline of the seat also will have a(n) (major?) influence on pedal height in relation to the bottom of your butt.

It's all trade-offs.

Most long wheelbase bents have a drop from seat to bottom bracket, anywhere from an inch or two to 8-10 inches. I think my V-Rex is neutral, while a RANS Rocket has a slight rise of an inch or two -- depending of course how thick a seat pad you're using. On my M5 CHR, the bottom bracket is 8 inches above the seat.

Which is all to say, there is no standard difference.

I am looking for something that will allow me plenty of power, since my quad is going to be kinda heavy. That being said, I will have a dash I'll have to see over (said quad is going to be a velomobile)

There is a Homebuilders sub-forum over on bentrider.com:
Homebuilders - BentRider Online Forums

How could a quad/velomobile be other than '..kinda heavy' ? Good luck.

Even a 'kinda light' quad/velomobile is heavy by single bike standards. A 'kinda heavy' one will be even more so.

It'll be "Sturdiness Is Next To Godliness" heavy.

Go to the various mfg ad pages, and click on specs. Almost all of them give the seat height, and the BB height.

What do you mean by "BB"?

BB = bottom bracket. Which can refer to the crank axle and bearings assembly and/or the bottom bracket shell of the frame.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottom_bracket
The BB height is fixed, while the pedal height is variable.

The faster designs of bents try to minimize frontal area by having a rise from seat-to-bottom-bracket. The goal is to place the body behind the frontal area taken by the feet in the course of pedaling. Of course, this causes the feet to impede the rider's forward view somewhat. A lowracer rider can look between the feet or past the one side that's down at the time. This isn't desirable for a velo, since that would mean the rider's head was below the 'hood' of the fairing and vision would be occluded completely. For a velo, you should want a) bb height sufficient that the feet stay in the shell, or at least off the pavement; b)seat somewhat off the bottom of the shell, so that the rider doesn't have to sit in any water that might get in; c) Moderate recline so that the rider can easily see over the hood, which of necessity must clear the rider's feet and knees.

Conflicting design goals: If you give the rider better vision by having less recline, it makes the velo taller and slower, limiting its speed potential.
