Just bought 1st trike-Sidewinder Procruiser...any opinions/reviews appreciated
Hi Y'all...just joined the ranks of all you coolcat trike riders out there...can't believe what a blast my new trike is...can't figure out who's doin more smiling...me or the curious and seemingly tickled car drivers, upright bikers and peds out ther walkin the bikepaths...or maybe it's just that I look darned silly peddeling along like a crazy fiend... it's a real kick...and, as I yelled out to my husband at the end of our sunset ride along the EastBay/SF shore yesterday...SHE'S ALIVE...SHE'S ALIVE!!!!!!! Anyhoots...I digress...I wanted to ask any of you out there if you have any experiences/opinions/feedback about my "new" usedtrike...it is a 2001 Procruiser Plus made by Sidewinder...Ipaid $850 for it and it is in immaculate condition...I haven't been able to find any reviews online in the usual forums or at bikeshop/dealers...anyone out there familiar with this trike? Also, I took our pup "Molly" along for the ride yesterday...but at 20 lbs. she was not a great fit for the carry bag strapped behind the seatframe...what would be a good cost-effective way of trailering her behind the trike...would a "kids" bike hauler work? She had a blast on the trike anyway and you should have seen her "mushing" along in front of the trike in her halter and longlead when I took her "out ot the bag"...you should have seen her...she's a 20lb. miniature poodle and running hell bent for leather 15 feet out in front ot the trike...and after a miile or so I had to reel her in...couldn't believe that my couch potato pup could get up and go so!!!! I had to put the pedal to the metal to keep up!!! Anywho...love the trike and would love to hear from y'all trikers out there...Ciao!!!

Just Google search for "Sidewinder trike" and you'll get reviews and user comments.
The rear-wheel steering must be fun when spinning donuts in a parking lot but I've always wondered about high-speed stability. I'd think that the phenomena of wheel flap above, say 20-22 mph?, would make downhill speeds a little more exciting than you'd necessarily want.
p.s. Check out the East Bay Recumbent Group - regular group rides 3rd Saturdays. There are few trikes.
