need recumbent-ish help.
So, we are entering this compition for a man powered "dragster". so obviously its going to be bike related. and i think recumbent is the most efficient of them all, as im a roady. so the plan so far is going to be a 3 wheel machine with 2 riders. we figure a running start, such as a bobsleed, would be best to get that quick up to speed. any tips for us? what is the most powerfull postion on a recumbent? As i know nothing about them. is a bobsleed style start worth it? or would a recumbent yeid a more efficient and quicker start up? lay the info on.

Is this for that beer contest? ;D
......
I don't think I would to a recumbent for this.
It is true that the seat type of a recumbent technically allows you to push the pedals with a greater amount of force than you weigh, but then the bike is more complex, and heavier overall. So what I would suggest is a conventional/upright bike, and the rider wearing a "belt", with two straps that connect at the sides of the belt and then run downwards, connecting to the frame. This would weigh less than any "real" bent, and yet still allow pushing very hard on the pedals. --If it's legal according to the rules, that is....

Yeah, I think you can still accelerate faster on a normal bike. How long is the race? Is any part of it downhill?
