How should I list my bent on e-Bay?
I've bought and sold bikes on e-Bay before, but have never sold a recumbent there. I'm familiar with all the usual methods of improving value (lots of pictures, good pictures, good description, plenty of detail).
Since there is less demand for recumbents than DF bikes, should I list my 'bent with a reserve to prevent someone from getting it for cheap? I normally don't like to list with a reserve because it seems to scare off bidders, but this case may be different.
Also, my bike is no longer stock (different tires, wheels, fork, & rear derailleur). How much does a bike gain or lose in value from such modifications? In this case, light-weight Bontrager 650c size wheels and a graphite fork were replaced with a (new) chromed-steel MTB fork with MTB wheels & tires. The rear Ultegra derailleur was replaced with a (new) XTR Shimano.
Since youse gals & guys have mo better track records with buying and selling recumbents than I, would you please share your knowledge and experience with me before I post my ad?
Thanks!
