Recumbent Speed

Check out a few of this guy's videos. They're passing DFs like they're standing still:

The 2nd video shows him riding with a friend. Those are some bikes. Anybody know the model?

No idea of the model. There are several very low slung brands out there. Slightly more aerodynamic then others.

I went to the Velocraft website. Those are quite special! Would they be good for touring? Are they impractical for cycling around town. Are they German-made? Is there a US equivalent that might be a little more affordable? Although, I must admit, they look like they're worth every penny.

Yes, the second video features Don "Airwolf" Smith on his NoCom.

Velokrafts are made in Poland. There's not much room to hang baggage on either model, but they make good club racers and can be used for everyday riding.

We do tours on our lowracers every year. I'll be posting some more videos soon. Yes these bikes are worth every penny. Thanks for spotting my videos.

The recumbent following in Part 4 looks like an Optima Baron. I saw the very distinctive chain stays towards the end.

Mirror

Next week I have to have surgery to fuse 3 vertebrae, which is how I got introduced to my Catrike (can't ride a DF anymore).

It is already a little difficult to look over the shoulder on the trike, but after the fusion it may be a real problem.

Where can I get a hand mirror like the guy on the NoComp is using?

"Your order has been canceled, the mirrors are out of stock."

I guess I'll have to look for another source.

I'm still partial to my take-a-look, as much as I think the hand mirror is cool.

Just tried again at http://www.alpha-sports.com/

I just know these are going to work great.

I go under the knife for the three level neck fusion on Wednesday. The surgeon says I can go back on the trike in one month, but only rail/trails not on the road. Doing my last ride tomorrow, a 40 miler on the West Orange Trail in Orlando.

That's OK, Central Florida has a fair number that I have never ridden. Only downside is I can't ride daily, only on weekends.

Yes that is a Baron. Mine, in fact.
