Repl Chain for Haluzak Horizon??
I've sent 2 emails to rhaluzak@sonic.net, requesting info and a replacement chain for my Horizon with NO results. I'm hoping someone here who knows about Horizons could advise me. The original chain is a KMC "Super Narrow" which is a little over 11ft long. Since I couldn't get ahold of someone from Haluzak (it's been 2 weeks now), would a Sram PC58 model chain work on my Horizon? I called a local bike shop which sells the same bike and was told that a PC58 would work. I'm skeptical about this chain as this chain is made for 8sp drive trains.
Here's my setup on this Horizon:
Front Derailluer, Shimano 105, with 3 chainwheels,
52t 42t and 30t.
Rear Derailluer, Shimano Deore 9sp with a 32x11 tooth
cluster.
Barcon shifters.

SRAM chain numbers that end in 8 are for 8spd, SRAM chain numbers that end in 9 are for 9spd drive systems. With a little luck you could find a shop with a continuous roll of 9spd SRAM. The PC59 would do fine. The PC89 or 99 are extra prima and not worth the extra money, especially in an 11' length. Worse case scenario is buying three prefab PC59 chains and splicing them together yourself either with a chain tool or with the quick connectors that come with the chains and trim to length. Altho 8 spd chains will work and last longer than 9spd chains, it would be 'better' to use 9spd chains. Steve
