Anyone else figure out what longer wire kits with computers work with a run like on a Vision R-50?

From the handlebar, I'm looking at over 60 inches to anywhere on the rear wheel that I could mount the sensor to...that was the longest kit Cateye seemed to have at any store I checked around here. Hostel Shoppe doesn't seem to have longer. Even worse is that run up to the "bottom" bracket out front!

I suppose I could live without cadence monitoring, but since I'm going for a wired rear wheel setup (for the trainer that's coming soon), I could really use it, since it's so easy to not drop a gear and torque harder on the pedals at lower rpm's, and it's so bad on my knees...

Am I stuck building my own kit?

Rather than trying to figure out a longer wire harness, why not just mount the computer pod/display somewhere other than on the handlebars.

Anywhere you can see it should be ok. So perhaps mount on the main frame tubing. May require a hose clamp or a couple of zip ties.

Or on the front deraileur post.

You could probably adapt a small plastic bracket used to hold a reflector or blinkie.

With a little imagination this should not be a difficult problem to solve.

It's bad enough where it is now, for safety in traffic, since I have to look half-way down the stem/tiller riser. At least I can get at the buttons. But I just realized if I have enough wireless range, I can just move the sender from the front wheel to the back for now, and leave my current computer where it is until I figure out a wired solution. I don't get cadence monitoring, but it gives me the winter to work on it - plus I don't have to worry about looking down in traffic while pedaling away in my living room

I had a catseye astrele w/cadence on my Lighting Phantom and ran it off the front tire. Why wouldn't that work on the vision.

Pockets, read my original post. Essence: indoor trainer - runs off the rear wheel. Front wheel doesn't spin. If it weren't for that, I'd go for a wired front wheel, but so far, the reach is just a bit short even on the long wire kit.
