Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Battle Mountain Update 9/20

Talked to Carol Leone and Matt Weaver will not make a run this year. If information is correct, it is due to a new steering system Matt installed that is not working as Matt would like. Hopefully he will give us more info on that.

Jeff Bales will not run tonight and has not gotten the results he was looking for as far as speed. Looks like a good learning year for Jeff.

Carol tells me that donations for prize money exceeded $1600! These are just individuals that have dug into their pockets. She also said they had plenty of volunteers, and that everyone was having a great time.

This is just a snippet, as I'm sure there will be much more once Jeff Hunn gets crankin'. Answers some of the questions I had, and maybe some others had as well.

More on Battle Mountain.... please. Last yrs writeups were entrancing. The few videos impressive: to see a small yellow dot slowly enlarge and realize it is a fully faired bike moving at 65mph
is hair raising. Steve
