Have you looked at the racks offered by Terracycles? www.terracycles.com
They make some very nice racks, although the price matches the high quality. I'm planning to pick one up for my Bacchetta Giro soon..
The rack mounts under the seat, and is used for mounting panniers. Not so good for bags that fit on top of a conventional rack, though.

I tranferred my cheap Performance brand rack to my Cafe. I took the brackets that would normally mount it to the seat stays on a DF, cut them with a Dremel, and used a P-clip to mount it to one of the cross pieces on the seat. Looks fine, works OK so far. I didn't want to give up the use of my Arkel Tail Rider trunk bag, and this is working fine. I'll take pictures if you want.

don't know about that rack but...
I bought a rack from Bacchetta for my Giro 20, I think about 40 bucks, and it works fine. It has an open platform, though
