Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

It's a common problem. In order to test ride a selection of recumbents many folks resign themselves to driving several hours to the nearest source.

Try posting your inquiry on the message board at www.bentrideronline.com A lot of helpful folks there - I'm sure someone can steer you to someplace in New Jersey.

Otherwise there's the Bicycle Man in New York and Mr. Airy Cycles in Maryland - both with large selections.

Is there a recumbent club somewhere nearby that you could contact? The Monterey Bay Recumbent Club has a test ride program and perhaps other clubs do too. It's a long shot. You're right....there aren't many places to go and test a wide variety of bikes. Good luck....
