Touring Tires for Stratus XP
I have a Stratus XP with Freddy Fenders, and I'd like to install wider touring tires than the OE. Specifically Schwalbe Marathon Supremes (42/1.6"). Will these fit? RANS and Schwalbe don't know. Anyone out there with experience in this? Thanks.

We originally put 2.0" Marathon XRs on our new Stratus XPs last year. They fit fine on mine (standard size SXP) but on my wife's (small size SXP) the gap between tyre and chain stay was just too tight (a mm or two either side). So we replaced them with 1.6" XRs, no problem. We use Freddy Fenders too. My guess is the 1.6" Supremes should be fine. We really like the XRs and the new Marathon Extremes seem pretty good too. By the way we had to do a bit of surgery on the Freddy Fenders to stop the chain rubbing on them in low gear. The Dremel tool did a great job.

Followup on the purchase of Supremes
Followup: I bought the Supremes - they fit fine, but...
The Supremes were rated 5 bars for speed, grip, puncture resistance and four bars for durability. I found them to have a terrific grip and they gave the SXPX a cushy ride, but they were distinctly slower (2 mph or so) than the Stelvios, which are given four bars for speed. I would definitely rate the Supremes at three bars for speed, given the relative performance.
I have gone back to Primo with 1.25" Kevlar belted Racers, which have me zooming along again. I may add a 1.5" Racer to the back in the future for touring. I'll probably keep the Supremes for off-road trips (at $60 a pop, I can't afford not to use them).
