Used Ryan Vanguard

Iím looking at purchasing a used Ryan Vanguard LWB USS. The original owner doesnít recall what year it is. He guessed í94. Looking at the components, but not really sure which are original or not, Iím guessing Ď97ish.

The front derailleur is Shimano LX. The rear derailleur says ďmountain LXĒ? Not sure if that is how Shimano marked it or if its an off brand. 7 speeds in the rear, the middle chain ring is Suntour ďpower strokeĒÖ Iím assuming itís elliptical.

The bike appears to be in impeccable shape. If you were in the market, what would you pay? What vintage would you guess?

I'm not in the market , so would want to steal it for $300 or $400. My guess is that it would bring double that on the open market.

The one I was looking at that spurred the post was listed at $950. I found another that I'm having someone pick up tonight for $400. (It will cost and addition $100 and four days to take possession of it.)

Doing more research, Iím finding a significant disparity in the listed weight for the machine. Iíve seen as little as 31# to as much as 42#.

Granted, itís a little late now but does anyone out there know what I should expect for a weight?

Iím not trying to be a weight weenie, but 25% is significant.
