Announcing the winner!!!

The Maximum Tiller Award is awarded to the recumbent whose steering requires the most forethought. The 2009 Maximum Tiller Competition Gold Medal Award goes to Cicli Zanella of Poincicco di Zoppola, Italy, for their Orrizontale trike:

Can you imagine riding that on a bike path anywhere?

Yes.

I think it's a nice-looking ride (though I can't understand what appears to be a lot of extra material below the bottom bracket. Kind of like it was supposed to be a lowrider.

However, any turn over 3mph or over 12 degrees, and you'll be on the ground wondering what happened.

It is advertised as a mobility device for people with special needs, so they're probably not racing. However, that doesn't excuse a design that anyone who had thought about it for an hour wouldn't make.

Their other three wheel models are interesting too. Take a look at Da Corsa.

Looks like the type of trike that Austin Powers would ride. Dig those psychedelic colors. Groovy Baby!
