These weird looking things just might catch on...
I rode my old ('88) Trek 820 Mountain Bike to work last night instead of the Volae Tour.
It was kinda fun. The center of gravity seemed a bit higher and it sure feels kinda funny sitting a waaaay up there on top of the bike like that.
But ya know, it was kinda fun. These "Uprights" may be quaint and silly looking....but they might just catch on some day (of course not for any serious cycling).

Strange, these "uprights" that you speak of. Do you think you'll think so highly of them after say, 10, 20, or 30 miles of riding? Also, did you miss the strange looks from other people that you normally get from riding the Volae Tour? That's almost worth riding a recumbent just by itself.

I have the same 820 trek and have to agree that it is fun to get it out once in a while. Can't stay on it for long though. When I ride with my little grandson its easier than my trike to stay near him on the sidewalk.

Replaced the gripshifts with triggershifters on my poor neglected Big Buzz last Sunday and then took it out for a fun 10 mile ride. It's a great bike and yet it passes the time most days hanging from a hook in the garage ceiling. Put Ergon grips on it, too.

Rode my "upwrong" bike the other day and was thinking...if I could raise the handlebars so i was more comfortable I might like this a little better... I do use a wider seat that is not a razor seat. Still love my lounge chair on wheels.
