Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Pretty good vid except he starts off with the wrong foot.
Wondering why his neighbor has a porta-potti next to the driveway?

Is there a wrong side? You're just supposed to start with whichever leg is most comfortable. I normally start with the right pedal up, but I've had people question why -- after all, if my left foot slips, I'll fall into traffic! OTOH, (my argument) overbalancing and falling to my non-supported side is the more likely scenario, and in that case I'll fall away from traffic. Besides, due to the crowning of most roads, the left side will be higher than the right, and therefore it's easier to reach the ground with the left foot.

Not sure who the target audience for the video is -- most/all of us here already know how to start.

Wrong foot=Not the foot that I use. I think I've always - going back to kidhood- put my right foot on the pedal first, on every bike that I've ridden. Someone should do a poll about right versus left foot starting.

Good video for people new to 'bents. Except for the R/L thing, he explains what I do and why I do it. Good to hear it verbalized.

I call shenanigans! That guy can't be a real 'bent rider. Where's the beard? The gut?? Heck, he even looks tall!
