Notices
Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Snicker...

Thought this was funny...

I really don't care what people think when I'm riding my trike, so far the comments I get have been all positive, anyway.

Riding recumbents is not for introverts, as I have found out.

Funny, I consider myself an introvert and have been riding nothing but recumbents since we moved to Florida in 2005.... Most people leave me alone, and I rarely stop on a ride to talk with a total stranger, nor do most people seem interested in my bikes or trikes...

I often get thumbs up, waves, smiles and occasionally horn-honks and winks. Though when people do talk with me, it's more often about my husky running with me than about my trike.

Overheard two landscapers talk to one another in Spanish as I went past. "That's a cool machine, eh?" "Sure, but those are for old people."
They probably didn't know I could understand them.
I generally say hi to everybody, walkers and cyclists, etc. I get a lot more waves from others when I could barely get an acknowledgment while riding a DF bike. The best greeting was one from among the mostly DF cyclists in a group ride going in the other direction. He yelled across the busy road: "I like your machine!" He was the only one riding a recumbent bike. Hehe.

That fine strip is one of hundreds produced by Rick Smith who has a family to feed. For a modest fee anyone interested can participate at https://www.yehudamoon.com/.

(When we lift a story or image from it's place and copy it to our own location we deprive the owner of the attention he or she would otherwise receive from linking to it directly.)

Where I found it I could not link directly to it, and there's no way I can find the original link on the Yehuda Moon site. The web address is on the strip. I'd say i'm promoting the strip and I have supported it before. I'm also in the same line of work as he is, so I know the routine very well.
